WELCOME TO MY 2026 ZOE GUIDE!

ABOUT ME:

hey!

I'm yuuki (yuukiyuukster).

In this guide I'll go over matchups, build paths, pros and cons, and other stuff that's important when playing Zoe, most of it comes from my own experience of playing her in high elo.

Whether you're new to Zoe or already have a lot of games on her, hopefully you'll find something useful here.

I've reached Challenger playing Zoeand Ahri mid, and I've been playing League for a lot of years. I've played pretty much everything over the years, from assassins to mages and everything in between, so I've got a lot of experience with different champs and playstyles.

I STREAM DAILY AROUND 4-5 PM CEST

if you have any questions feel free to come and ask me, very friendly to new frogs. (those who snow..)

enjoy :^) ,

WHY PLAY ZOE?

infact...... YES!!! you can! How, you ask? well well well.......... THE ASPECT OF TWILIGHT is CALLING 📞Introducing ZOE from LEAGUE OF LEGENDS

If you're looking for a champion that will allow you to make the enemy miserable while also having one of the most addicting and satisfying kits in entirety of League of Legends Zoe might be just for you.

RUNEPAGES + SUMMONER SPELLS

Before we go into runes i just wanna quickly explain what summoner spells I play, and why do I do that:

99,9% of the times I just play Flash with Ignite cause Zoe has a lot of kill pressure and you can get a lot of value out of Ignite, very very very rarely ill play Flash with Teleport, and it's only whenever I feel like there's a 0% chance of me killing the enemy laner and I just wanna scale.

Keep in mind this guided is centred on midlane, though when I play support in most cases I play:

Exhaust with Ignite (yes, I don't play flash) this combo with Spell Thief and makes Zoe a complete BEAST when it comes to 2v2's, especially if you add up all the summoners (you + enemy adc + enemy support) you have 6 SUMMONERS that you can utilize to your advantage.

SCROLL DOWN FOR SUPPORT RUNEPAGE (it's somewhere down there)

This is by far the most fun setup I've played on Zoe

You have A LOT of movement speed which makes repositioning easier than with any other rune page.

I find it good into matchups like Cassiopeia where enemy champ can easily catch up to you after you wake them up after your combo (also the rune makes Exhaust slow almost non-existent LOL)

This is by far the most consistent rune page that I prefer most of the games, you can bully very hard on lane with Aery especially since it has no cooldown (you just need to pick it up).

It's really good into melee characters like Qiyana, Akali, Locke, Zed.

This is the most standard Zoe rune page, you can almost always utilize electrocute, it's good into squishy comps, very easy to proc.

(Honestly any of the rune pages i've mentioned work, you just need to think about how do you wanna play Zoe.)

THIS RUNEPAGE IS FOR PLAYING SUPPORT, VERY IMPORTANT THING IS YOU NEED CAUSE YOU WIN ALMOST EVERY 2V2 IN EARLY GAME WITH YOUR Spell Thief PASSIVE.

YOU SWAP FOR SINCE YOU WANNA MOVE ON THE MAP FASTER, YOU ALSO PLAY INSTEAD OF (YOUR CHAMP IS REALLY GOOD AT WARDING, YOU JUST Portal Jump OVER THE WALL AND PLACE A WARD

THIS IS THE FORBIDDEN RUNEPAGE, I PLAY IT IF I JUST WANNA PERMA ROAM AND RUN AROUND THE MAP WITH 2.5 CS PER MINUTE (it's bad, don't do it...)

(jk, its good if u drop 30 bombs every lobby and get like 2-3 stacks per minute LOL)

Some people don't play in their rune pages, but i think it's too good to not play since your champ kinda relies on auto-attacks aswell, and it also makes farming minions kinda easier).

(btw, if you ever have mana problems in the rune pages above you can swap out

for

or

for

(!!!THIS ONE I WOULDN'T REALLY RECOMMEND! I FEEL LIKE NIMBUS CLOAK HAS TOO MUCH VALUE!!!)

Also shard isn't bad too, some people play it, but I think you don't really need it that much)

ITEMS

Well, when it comes to Zoe we all know how broken her base damage is, which means.......

YOU CAN BUILD ALMOST WHATEVER YOU WANT !

THOUGH...

MAKE SURE YOU SPEND 350 GOLD FOR Dark Seal ON 2ND RECALL, IT'S A REALLY GOOD ITEM ESPECIALLY SINCE IT'S VERY CHEAP FOR THE VALUE IT GIVES + YOU WANNA SNOWBALL AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
You will upgrade to Mejai's Soulstealer only if you're behind and you need to flip a bit or if you think enemy team won't be able to kill you.

(if I'm in the mood I sometimes buy Ninja Tabi into Frozen Heart just to make the enemy Akshan or Yone very tilted)

((it's really bad, please... don't do it..))

though, if you're boring.... and you want to maximise your character you will play one of these three as your core item:

(before i say anything tho, pls remember that Lost Chapter is the best mage item in the game because of it's passive and everything that it gives, so 99,9% of times ure going to wanna buy it, it costs 1200g, builds from really cheap and good components Amplifying Tome Sapphire CrystalGlowing Mote, so you can get it even if u have a very bad recall.

LUDENS ECHO

Unarguably, the most popular item on Zoe. It gives good stats, its not so expensive and has a very good item path which is Lost Chapter and Hextech Alternator. I think one big issue is that you can burn the item's passive on minions, which can sometimes be vital when fighting someone.

BLACKFIRE TORCH

Overall I like the item, it gives you a lot of ability haste + it also builds from Lost Chapter. This item is core if enemy team is chunky, you're going to be able to cast way more Sleepy Trouble Bubble in mid/late game fights.

STORMSURGE

I'm pretty sure this is probably the best first item on Zoe atm, it gives a good amount of AP, MAGIC PEN and 6% of movement speed (stats are insane btw). The Stormsurge passive doesn't make your Sleepy Trouble Bubble break anymore, which means it's even better now. (you will struggle with mana a lot if you're a new Zoe player, try swapping for )

before i explain what item you should build next, lets talk about BOOTS (i almost always build them after finishing first item, unless I'm playing into something like Syndra or Cassiopeia then i prioritise boots)

SORCERERS SHOES

These boots are really good, especially if you play Stormsurge (yes, it actually makes a HUGE difference when it comes to damage) since not only you get flat pen from it, you also get 8% magic pen from upgraded boots.

LUCIDITY BOOTS

These are really good if you lack ability haste, they feel very smooth to play + if you have Blackfire Torch you feel like you are playing URF, if enemy team is chunky and you wanna play more like a "cc bot" you can try them out.

MERCS

XD? eh.... can't believe you'd think about it... what a beta........

(no but seriously , these are good if enemy has double ap mid + jun or AP topside/botside, keep in mind the tenacity doesn't really matter since in 99.9% of scenarios the moment you get cced you're dead)

TABIS

XD2??????? rly? this too??? man.....................

(they are good if enemy team is full ad, otherwise i feel like they're useless)

((well I do build them if I wanna tilt enemy Akshan or Yone but i think i said that alrdy.. (gulp)))

OKAY BACK TO THE ITEMS, THE AMOUNT OF CHOICES YOU HAVE IS HUUUUUUUUUUUUGE RN:

LICHBANE

I still think this is by far the best 2nd item to build on Zoe next to Horizon Focus. It synergises really well with Zoe's passive More Sparkles!, you auto attack a lot and the item itself gives you a nice amount of AP, 5% of movement speed + ability haste, it isn't really expensive and also the build path isn't that bad cause it consists of : Blasting WandAether Wisp and Sheen, you kind of always wanna get Sheen last. Also it makes pushing towers feel so nice and easy.

(#enjoy getting hit by Lich Bane Stormsurge zoeXD u will for sure live after u get hit with a sleep)

HORIZON

REALLY good item on Zoe it's not as great as Lich Bane most of the times though, especially after Horizon Focus AP ratio got nerfed, the passive synergises really well with Zoe , you can play around the fog of war more, i personally build it whenever i feel like I cannot auto attack as much as normally. Also whenever i go Blackfire Torch i will most likely build Horizon Focus with Crimson Lucidity. (these items give a ridiculous amount of ability haste, after I get those 3 + Imperial Mandate I can basically weave a Sleepy Trouble Bubble every 3 seconds.)

IMPERIAL MANDATE

ok hear me out.. I think this item is so crazy good on Zoe (especially on support) First of all, its really cheap, and I'm talking DIRT CHEAP, the build path is -> Bandleglass Mirror + Amplifying Tome + Amplifying Tome which means it's very easy to build. Overall I build this item whenever I feel like my team has enough damage to oneshot off of my Sleepy Trouble Bubble or whenever i just feel like I wanna have more of a cc bot game, like I've mentioned before it synergises really well with Blackfire Torch and Horizon Focus.

All of the items mentioned above are good 2nd items on Zoe.

You also have items like:

ZHONYA

It's good into champs like Zed, Akali TLDR: if you are the main character of the game the enemy team will most likely do anything to kill you ( like a Pantheon that will flash Shield Vault you) Zhonya's Hourglass STATIS MIGHT BE THE KEY TO WINNING. (sometimes you can go Seeker's Armguard at the end of the game, if you have nothing else better to buy, it REALLY clutches some fights.)

BANSHEE

Whenever enemy team has something like Malzahar who can flash Nether Grasp you (aka: no counter play) you can go Banshee's Veil to at least delay it for a little bit, giving you and your team a head start. (same as with Seeker's Armguard, I sometimes go Verdant Barrier when i know the game's going to end and I don't have anything better to buy.)

VOIDSTAFF OR CRYPTBLOOM

Both of these items grant you magic penetration, I usually go Void Staff if enemy team has HEAVY magic resist items, like enemy jungle having Maw of Malmortius, mid having Banshee's Veil, and top building Kaenic Rookern (I'm talking about the entire team stacking MR, not just one person. Hopefully u understand what i mean, hopefully). I build Cryptbloom when enemy has light magic resist, I'm talking like one person building a magic resist item, Cryptbloom is really good since it gives you a very nice passive that heals all of your teammates (i build it on support a lot) + it has some ability haste that pairs well if you play the Blackfire Torch Horizon FocusImperial Mandate build for example.

SHADOWFLAME

I usually build Shadowflame when I have nothing else to buy and enemy team doesnt stack any magic resist, item pairs well with Stormsurge Lich Bane and Spellslinger's Shoes (keep in mind Shadowflame amplifies the Stormsurge passive.)

RABADON

REALLY GOOD item on Zoe, its really expensive though, but it's a game changer most of the games, especially if you have 10 Dark Seal stacks or 25 Mejai's Soulstealer stacks. I think most of games you'll need to get Cryptbloom sooner, just cause it has a better build path and enemy team might start building MR, especially if you cannot recall on Needlessly Large Rod which costs 1200G.

PROTOBELT

Overall, you'd think that Hextech Rocketbelt is a pretty bad item on Zoe, which yeah, its true. There's other items to build that are 20 times better, but in some scenarios, i think it's pretty fun to use + you can make your Portal Jump mechanics feel so smooth when using it. I find Hextech Rocketbelt good into champions that burst you since it gives you health also for example: You can Hextech Rocketbelt out of Qiyana's, Supreme Display of Talent and other more key champion abilities.

END

guide is always updated. (pls keep in mind that the matchup sheet isn't finished yet, I'll try to do it ASAP.)
